Belarusian Railway participates in XXX Plenary Meeting of the International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation

15-16 September 2021, the XXX Plenary Meeting of the International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation held in Moscow, Russia, in an online format.

The meeting was opened by Oleg Belozyerov, General Director – Chairman of the Board of Russian Railways OJSC, Chairman of the CCTT.

Vladimir Morozov, the Head of Belarusian Railway led the belarusian delegation.

The participants discussed the prospects for the development and current issues, digitalisation of the transport process, development of the infrastructure and transport capacities of seaports to ensure uninterrupted organisation of multimodal transport in Eurasian traffic.

Vladimir Morozov noted, despite the current difficult conditions of pandemic, rail international freight transport is carried out without interruptions, including Asia–Europe–Asia direction.

2020 was an important year for the Belarusian Railway in terms of business containerization. For the first time, more than one million TEU containers were transported in all types of directions (140% compared to last year).

Transportation in China–Europe–China direction remains future-oriented, with over 470 000 TEU containers transported across Belarus by rail in 2021 (143% compared to 2020).
