Bilateral talks took place in Minsk

A working meeting took place between the Head of the Belarusian Railway Vladimir Morozov and Chairman of the Board of Latvian Railways Maris Kleinbergs 5th of September in Minsk.

During the meeting Vladimir Morozov held a presentation about the Belarusian Railway activity. The heads of railway administrations will discuss the results of work on passengers and freight transportation between Belarus—Latvia in 2019 and prospects of its development.

The collaboration between Belarusian Railway and Latvian Railways is aimed to maintain and increase the volume of freight transportation, develop railway infrastructure and implement IT.

Over the eight month of 2019, container train Zubr (co-project of Latvian, Estonian, Moldavian, Ukrainian, Belarusian Railways) transported 4,5 ths. TEU containers on Belarus—Latvia direction.

Passenger transportation in Belarus—Latvia direction is carried out by trains №87/88 and № 32/31 Kiev—Minsk—Vilnius—Riga. Over the seven month of 2019, 22.7 ths. passengers were transported by this trains.
