A new passenger train route Minsk Pasažyrski — Minsk National Airport will be opened on the 7th of November 2014. 5 modern three car diesel train pairs DP3 will run daily on a test basis.
The travel time will be about 70 minutes, including travelling by train (55 to 56 minutes) and by bus (4 to 5 minutes). A one way ticket will cost 25,000 Belarusian rubles (travelling by bus is included).
Tickets will be available in the ticket offices of the Belarusian Railway and the payment terminals, including those in the National Airport. Tickets will also be sold by ticket agents in the trains.
The project has been implemented on the basis of the existing transport infrastructure. The main goal of the project is to develop passenger transportation and to improve passenger services.
Modern three car diesel units DP3 were constructed by PESA Bydgoszcz SA (Poland)
Each train set includes accommodation for 143 passengers and meets all the safety and comfort requirements. Spacious railcars are equipped with comfortable recliners. Low-floor (600 mm) entrance doors offer easy access for the passengers. There is a special zone for the disabled and the passengers with excess luggage, and two vacuum WCs (one is disabled-accessible) in each train. The railcars are equipped with air conditioners, power sockets, video control and information systems.
