Belarusian Railway will take part in the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Kyrgyzstan

Vladimir Morozov will attend a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic, on 19-20 August.

Following the meeting, the heads of delegations expect to sign the Memorandum on facilitating the sustainable development of the transit potential and environmental safety of railway transportation in the Eurasian economic union.

Memorandum is aimed to develop the transport and logistics system of the EAEU, increasing the share of railways in the market of transport and logistics services, increase marketability of container transportation in the Eurasian Economic Union, including China-Europe-China direction due to the effective functioning of the United Transport and Logistics Company (JSC UTLC ERA).

It should be noted, that JSC UTLC ERA is important integrational project within EAEU. The company provides services for transportation of containers by regular container block trains on the route China–Europe–China through the territories of the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2020, 546,9 ths containers TEU were transported through the Republic of Belarus, which is up by 11 times, compared to 2015.

Besides, the Head of Belarusian Railway is expected to meet with the Heads of Russian, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan railways.
