    Transit rail traffic via Belarus up 11% in August 2020

    In August 2020 the volume of transit rail transportation via Belarus exceeded 2.5 million tonnes, up 11% compared with July.

    The main freight were coal, petroleum products, iron ore, chemical and mineral fertilizers, grain, and container cargo. The volum of cargo transportation of coal, oil products, ore, grain, sugar and other goods increased compared with the previous month.

    The largest volumes of transit transportations were carried out in Russia direction (1.9 million tonnes, up 13% compared with the last month), including Kaliningrad area (0.7 million tonnes, up 10%), Latvia (0.4 million tonnes, up 56%) and Kazakhstan (0.4 million tonnes, up 2%).
